April 9, Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District (CSD) trustees and committee members approved the CSD fiscal year 2027 budget during a joint meeting.
The CSD budget is about $12.1 million, an 6.5% increase from last year. The trustees voted 4-1, with Sewall Maddocks opposed. Darrell Gudroe was not present. The school committee voted 4-1, with Tom Perkins opposed. Stephanie Hawke was not present.
They voted unanimously to approve the local contribution to Boothbay-Wiscasset Regional Adult Education (BWRAE), which was $55,438, a 57.7% increase. This larger share is due to the $45,478 start-up cost of adding a regional driver’s education program, which is estimated to bring in about $19,500 annually.
